Who to Start at Defensive Units in your Week 1 Fantasy Line-up
Championships start here and this is a fact. Many leagues don’t incorporate a Defense position or in some cases even the Kicker position however for those that do we are going to ensure we have you covered. The old saying that Defenses win championship is a fact if you look at the last couple of Super Bowl Championship teams they have had good balance of Offense and Defense but their Defense was one of the league leading teams. Go back into the past and you will find that more often than not the defenses were very stout and had great leadership along with big time playmakers and hitters.
At the start of this year we are grading out the Seattle Seahawks and the top Defensive Unit. So if your Fantasy Football League forces you to choose a Defense you had better lock in on one of our top Defenses and if you happen to pick up the Seahawks you should look for a cheap sub for Week 5. You can lock it and forget about it. For years I would play matchups with Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams which quite often would backfire in my face. It is much better to just lock it down with a top 5 defense and worry about trying to deal and juggle other positions based upon the matchups.
If the Seahawks are not available look to the Cardinals, Texans, Broncos or the Panthers as a good choice r”>to carry the load.. If you are not lucky enough to have landed one of these 5 units I would suggest grabbing two upper tier 2 Defenses to play the odds based on level of competition. Remember to ensure you are not loading up on one specific Bye Week.
