I'm pretty surprised by Budinger, he's been doing some good things, although it is still early in the year, so far so good. I remember reading about him in SLAM magazine 2 years ago, I guess the Rockets do really know what they're doing and know who to pick.

Also, with Blair I think he'll have a better career just because he's in San An right now with professionals like Pop and Timmy. Brockman did very well in Summer League, lets see how it translates in Portland, a good team that I think will have chemistry issues this year. Great post, as usual Zachariah.

I completely agree that Blair is far more talented than Brockman. I just wanted to point out that a rookie with a similar build was putting up similar numbers (now 3.8 rpg in 10.3 mpg - same rate as Chris Bosh) at this point. Just for the record, there is no way Brockman has the season or career of Blair, but I do think he was a great pick-up in the second round - along with Blair, Sam Young, Chase Budinger, and Jodie Meeks. It just occurred to me that Budinger is what Joe Alexander (last year's #8 selection) was supposed to be.

I don't think Thabeet will be better than Hibbert over their NBA careers, Thabeet is just to soft it seems.

Blair has no "white clone" in Brockman, although I think Brockman is solid they are not the same. Blair is averaging 8.3 PPG & RPG at 20 mins while Brockman is averaging 3 PPG and 3 RPG at half the time, 10 minutes. While Brockman might do better over time and given more minutes I think Blair is much more "NBA ready" as they say.
