Wow, i think this is the closest i will ever get to Brandon Roy? As an Oregonian living in Chicago, i can't tell you how excited i am to have my blazers back! Chicago has 6 pro sports teams... SIX (counting MLS). So excited to see Oden healthy and happy and taking charge of his talent and career this offseason, both physically and mentally. Careers are a lot shorter than you think. Gotta work as hard as you can while still young. Next thing you know, you're 35 and on your way out. Greg will be 35...with a whole lot of all stars under his belt, and hopefully some rings to go with it. We love all the Blazers though. Keep leading us BRoy...

Having played with Greg, I truly believe he has a great chance to make the All Star team this year. I was talking with Jason Quick the other day and me and him both agree if Greg stays the beast that he is he will make the All Star team this year.

Gasol is the Lakers' PF behind Bynum. Younger Gasol had very similar production to GO last year, but in almost 50% more playing time. Love is not better than Oden, and he is far less popular than the new Oregonian. I'm not sure the Spurs would name Duncan the center for the balloting since he always wins at F anyway. As the southerner said above, people all over the country already associate the Blazers and Oden. If he has the good year he can (which ESPN would then showcase ad nauseum), Oden can win it.

I hope you are right. It all hinges on Greg getting some confidence and coordination.

And I don't know where Andre Miller's great track record with centers comes from. He didn't do much for Olowkawandi in LA.

I'm cheering for GO to have a solid season, but there's no way he's getting voted in as an all-star. Maybe, just maybe, as an alternate after some injuries take place. Look at the pathetic amount of votes that BRoy gets, and he dominates games single handedly. Whether Love or Jefferson is listed at C on the ballot, doesn't matter, they're both better then GO at this point. Spurs will probably list Duncan at C now that Yao is injured. Amare will probably not be listed at C, but you never know. Both Gasol bros are C's too, and better then Oden. "True Center" means nothing in the ASG voting.

Good stuff. I hope down here in the south they show some of the Blazer games on TV. When I mention the Blazers down here most people associated it with Oden and Roy. I think i may be in town for the Nov 23rd game against the Bulls, might have to get tickets

Amar'e Stoudemire started the Suns' preseason game tonight as the PF, with Channing Frye getting the nod at the 5. If this holds, this may turn out to be the most important piece to Oden becoming an All-Star in 09-10. That is unless Duncan decides he'd rather start the ASG as a center instead of as a forward.
