I'm a Vikes fan too, but Andrew's got a point about those two. I've been watching Sidney Rice for two years now, and in fact have had him on my fantasy teams during stretches of both years. If it weren't for injury issues, you'd see his name a lot more. As for Percy Harvin, anyone who saw the BCS Championship game last year, or any number of Florida football games over the last few years knows he's been a force to be reckoned with for the Gators. Timmy Tebow's good and all, but in order beat those extremely stingy SEC defenses he needed a constant weapon, and Harvin was the guy. I can think of few better proving grounds for the NFL. Add in PR and KR yardage? You'd be crazy not to think of him for your #2-#3 WR option.

Brett Favre is just skipping the training camp. He'll join the team with about a week of pre-season left, just to get his timing down with the WRs.

Then Favre bombs to Berrian, and perhaps Harvin, AP running people over (and defenses kept honest by Favre's arm), and Percy Harvin taking direct snaps and running reverses and trick plays All Day.

Packers and Bears are going down. Ryan Grant is a joke RB who had 1/2 of a good season because he had fresh legs while teams' defensive players had been grinding the previous 8 games already.

Jay Cutler will stink it up without true WRs. When a team's best WR (Hester) doesn't get drafted for fantasy until late rounds you can expect the QB to suffer.

Go Vikes.

You're right, it's very possible that a little bias is creeping into my projections. Which is why I thought it necessary to mention that I'm a Vikings fan in the article.

That said, as just a fantasy football player it's hard not to get excited about what this offense can do this year. Phil Loadholt is a major upgrade on the offensive line. Sage Rosenfels has proven very capable of moving and scoring the football despite a disconcerting propensity for turnovers. And an offense featuring Percy Harvin and Adrian Peterson is going to be a nightmare to gameplan for, and their presence is going to open up a lot of space for everybody else. I expect Harvin, AP, Berrian, Shiancoe and perhaps Rice to be rostered in your fantasy league this season, at least for stretches.

I admittedly follow every Vikings beat writer's blog and twitter so I'm immersed in the hype, but the national football media seems to be in agreement on the upside here. Scout.com. Peter King. John Clayton at ESPN. Chris Wessling recently called the Vikings offense fantasy gold.

hah, you have TWO Vikings in this article? How is that even possible? Not only are there two listed as breakouts, but Bernard Berrian is mentioned as the player defenses should be focused on.

Understand you're a Vikings fan, but you DO realize they only scored 13 tds with the wideouts (22 total) last year right?
It sounds as if you're confident Tavaris and/or Rosenfels can throw ~25 tds to receivers alone.

Obviously AP needs his looks too. Vikings fan or not, you should be running an unbiased column on your unbiased website, no?

I guess I can't be too mad at you. I drafted Gonzalez, Berrian, Hixon, and Ginn this year. Not to mention adding my keeper Adrian Peterson. So i'll hope you're right about something.
