Still with us? Good, congratulations for making it this far. You’ve done well, but the real battle has only just…

Ah, forget it. There are enough fantasy football articles floating around the Web this week insulting your intelligence in regards to the fantasy playoffs; you don’t need another one. “Now’s the time to really focus on matchups” and “there’s no such thing as over-managing your roster during the fantasy playoffs”–thanks for that. We get it.

Anybody who’s still in the hunt doesn’t need such time-wasting frivolity. You want rankings–cold, calculated rankings–to help shape your roster decisions, and that’s what ETB exclusively focuses on each and every week. That’s it. So with that in mind, best of luck. In case you’re wondering, both of us made the cut over in the ETB-sponsored league with the potential for Andrew and I meeting up in the championship match. We shall see.

Hi Their – My 1st Comment/Question 4 U
Matt Schaub is back & I must drop him or Chad Pennington and I am leading towards keeping Chad as in weeks 15 to 17 he faces SF then KC then NYJ and Matt faces Ten then Oak then Chicago (Chi not bad). This week I will be alright with Matt Cassel

There – It goes to show U that U should always proof read a bit. :-)

My Question will be would I be right to let Matt Schaub go and keep Chad Pennington in light of their schedules from week 15 to 17 evan though before Matt went down I would never have traded Matt for Chad. Thanks for your help with this.
I really appreciate this site very much.

Hey Dave-

I don’t think you would be crazy to let Schaub go, but I do wonder why you’ve held on to him this long only to release him the week of his return. Then again, fantasy football is a war of attrition, you’ve prob had some bad luck.

Given the schedule disparity you mentioned and the uncertainty Schaub’s healing knee presents Pennington has roughly equal value at this point. If I were you I would double-check the schedule in your league though, it’s highly unusual for fantasy leagues to extend into Week 17 given NFL teams’ tendency to bench their studs. If you are playing Week 17 you may consider revising that schedule for next season.

Yo Joe-

I would roll with the following three at WR/TE:

Andre Johnson
Lee Evans
Marques Colston

At RB I would roll with:

Brandon Jacobs
Steve Slaton

Glad we got you this far, and best of luck going forward.

Thanks Andrew
In the league I’m in when a player goes down U can put him on IR and pick someone else up in his place but that player is then tied 2 the player U put on IR.
I agree with U that our season should be over now and our 3 Wk playoffs should be 14 – 16 but its 15 – 17 and U must consider this Stud business when selecting players for your roster I guess.
Thanks again

I’ve stil been doing some last minute debating on this one….so tell me if i’m losing it or not but i’m considering running with Hillis this week instead of slaton or jacobs given the fact that this guy has been a beast for denver and he plays w/some serious heart unlike some other backs. i like him in this matchup vs k.c and denver seems to run with what works …i see him ranking a lot higher than 23rd and pulling some yardage with atleast a TD…’am i crazy??? thanks again : )

Posted by: j on December 5th, 2008 at 2:48 am

Ur Not Crazy
U probably don’t need my 2cents worth and it is very close between Slaton & Hillis with the overall edge going 2 Slaton but I like Hillis against KC this week beter than Slaton against GB. Good luck J
