Hey George-

Sorry Brees didn’t work out for you, but I can’t imagine anybody didn’t see Brees as a top-5 QB play this week. No one could have recommended benching him in good conscience. But that’s why they play the games, strange things happen every week. It’s important to keep in mind that the right decision isn’t always the one that generates the most fantasy points, it’s the one that had the greatest probability of generating the most fantasy points. Starting Artose Pinner in week ten last season wasn’t a smart move or the ‘right’ decision, even if he did have 3 touchdowns that week. It was an anomaly.

As for Brees going forward, I don’t think we should look into this performance too much. He’s a great quarterback, in a solid system, has the weapons around him to succeed and should be just fine this season. Don’t overreact and trade him away for pennies on the dollar, and those who don’t own him should be making buy low offers. It was just one game, and by all the information we have to go on it was an anomaly.

How is it possible that you are so right about T.O. yet so wrong about Jon Kitna? Kitna will get eaten alive by a ball-hawking Oakland secondary. I’m certainly not an Oakland fan but I do respect the product they put on the field. There is no way that Kitna limps out of the stadium with less than 2 interceptions. Plus Tatum Bell couldn’t run on a high school D, much less the improving Raider D. I see tons of pressure (which Bell has no clue how to pick up) followed by knee-jerk throws ending in Michael Huff “wiping-down” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZR-Ke_te9Q – I apologize for the terrible terrible video. But I can pinpoint one of the factors leading to the poor state of America’s youth. ) Namdi Aso… in the end zone.
