I avoided Alexander like the plague last year, and again for my first 3 drafts this year. And then I forget about this draft (getting up at 5:30 AM everyday for work made me tired enough to sleep most of the weekend), and who do I end up with? That's right... Alexander.
Brown... it all comes down to how he adapts to the new system that worked miracles for LDT (though he's amazing anyways).
As for Fitz... let's hope Whisenhunt realizes that he has some amazing WRs.

Its PooSluts.com guys, yes we r fake. Would you honestly believe a nice jewish boy from nashville would actually run a site like that. I dont think so.

About the T.O. pick he will be the fantasy breadwinner on the Cowboys, no if ands or butts, he has had a very positive offseason, and honestly I think he is the most conditioned player in the NFL. Wade Phillips and Romo are gonna get him the ball.

As Andrew has heard me say over and over again, if I'm not awarded with a top-3 pick, I'd rather get slotted at the very end of the draft order, which I did indeed luck into this time. You miss out on the "premier" picks choosing at the end, but on the flipside you get two very good picks.

In this case, Reggie Bush and Laurence Maroney were both guys I was hoping would fall to me, and they did, so I'm very pleased. In general, when possible, I try to draft players that I can root for on Sundays--there's nothing worse than hoping a player you loathe (Shockey, Mannings, etc) does well strictly because he's on your fantasy squad.

In the third, I had my man Roy Williams queued all round, and was almost positive midway through that he was going to slide. Alas, JD snapped him up (expect some trade offers, good sirs), but my second choice was Anquan Boldin, a guy I've never had on my roster but almost always wish I did. All in all, I'm psyched about my first three picks.

good analysis. yeah, I totally panicked with the TJ pick...I can't believe I let Boldin and Man-Child Williams pass me by for Housh. Oh well, we are very happy with landing Gore at #9 and the whole Chad Johnson song and dance is old. Last season he was way too erratic.

Max-

You're absolutely right about the three handcuffs you made off with (like a bandit). With Clinton Portis ailing, Willie Parker's knee swelling and LT's significant wear over the years all three could see playing time for a team that's a rushing juggernaut and all three could turn into huge fantasy contributors. This is just an analysis of the first three rounds, I'll give you props for your later picks when they come up.

Mr. Addict-

I don't think it was a disaster for you, we just have some differing opinions on the players you took. MJD could very well prove to be a superstar this year, especially if Fred Taylor reverts to his old, injury-prone ways. The Jacksonville attack was third in the NFL in rushing yards/game last season and I believe they led the league in attempts so he'll get his chances either way. I'm just operating on a gut feeling with Jones-Drew. With regards to Portis, when healthy he's a top-10 back. I'm a litle worried about having him without Betts handcuffed. Perhaps you should be talking to Max.

Mr Thell-

As for my picks, I was very pleased with the way rounds 1-3 went. It was one of those dream scenarios where every time I queued up a player 4-5 picks before I made my selection, he was still there when my turn came up. After these rounds though, I started reaching as more and more of my queued players were disappearing. And of course I like my own picks, I think everybody should be happy with their teams at this point. If not, it's time to hit the books.

yeah, I messed up with this draft... it was one of my first of the season and I had some monumental brain farts. If I could go back there's no way Portis would be my first round pick... I had wanted Rudi and when he was snatched the pick before me I flat out panicked!

Well, apparently I reached on 3 of my first picks =). Picking 6th was not a ton of fun, but I tried to make due. In my defense of skipping Gore and Alexander to grab Westbrook, its not like Gore and Alexander are exactly "healthy" guys. They are guys coming off of big injuries. Gore broke his hand not too long ago and couldn't stay healthy in college either (enters Willis). Alexander, while he may have been a victim of the madden curse, has not convinced me he will be the same pre-foot injury, post-Hutch era. Plus, this is a league rewarding receptions which increases Westbrook's value in comparison to some traditional leagues.

Round 2: Once again, I may have reached a little here with MJD, but I decided I was not going to take a QB that early with the amount of starting RB slots, and the next RB off the board was Benson (who I am not nearly in love with as move people. Hasn't done anything since college). So as you can see there was a decent drop off, in my opinion of RB's.

In Round 3: Thomas Jones in my eyes was the best RB left, and the majority of the elite QB's and WR's were off the board so I figured I would take a shot and shore up my 3rd RB slot. This draft was pre-injury by the way.

In the next draft recap, you will see I still ended up with a strong QB (Hasselbeck) and solid WR's (Coles and Evans) to go with a total of 6 RB's who, in a 12 person league with 3 starting RB's, could come at a premium down the road. Especially since they are all serious "handcuffs"(Betts, Tuner and Davenport).

Can this season start any sooner????
