I truly believe that the NBA would be better off if they learned that basketball (at least the way the NBA plays it) is a team-game, not a superstar v. superstar match-up. Die-hard fans will, as you stated, watch anyways.
As for the casual fans, they&#039;ll watch what you market. The NBA markets the &quot;superstars,&quot; that&#039;s what the casual fan watches. And when they&#039;re out, they stop watching. 
The NBA could make it a lot easier on themselves if they would realize the importance of a team. That, or they could work on pissing of the die-hards and keeping the casual fans by doing what they do best... helping the superstars out at will. After all, that is what the refs are for, no? (Sorry, I&#039;m still upset with some of the calls I saw... or didn&#039;t... in the 1st round between the Rockets and Jazz.)</description>
