Cedric Griffin Arrested For Sagging
April 20, 2007
NFL fans have become accustomed to seeing their local players showing up in the police blotter, but Vikings’ cornerback Cedric Griffin has found a unique way of getting arrested.

Griffin, 24, was arrested early Sunday in downtown Minneapolis after arguing with police and bouncers outside a night club. He was released a few hours later after posting $50 bail.
Witnesses told a local television station that Griffin refused to pull up his pants. The club had a dress code requiring that pants not sag below the waist.
I know NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is trying to clean up the league’s image, and I support his efforts. That being said, I have to side with my man Griffin on this one. He will not compromise his style, and I admire that. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been kicked out of swanky restaurants for wearing my pants in the manner which I find most comfortable (I’m not going to go into specifics. And I can tell you how many, it happened once. But it was super embarrassing.) I’m pleased people like me finally have a champion in the public eye, somebody we can rally around. A name we can chant when the bouncers come looking for us. So to you, Cedric Griffin, I say: kudos.
