Richard Jefferson: Could Be Back Saturday

March 8, 2007

RJ Getting Close

We’ve advised people to pick up Richard Jefferson in fantasy leagues where he may have been dropped, and that could pay off any game now. Jefferson has been traveling with the Nets and he’s been in uniform for the last three games, but he has yet to play. The Nets brought Jefferson along on this road trip because they thought he would be able to return sometime before it ended, but there are only three games left. The speculation now is that RJ will be back to face the San Antonio Spurs this Saturday, so scoop him up if he’s still out there. His scoring, percentages, rebounding and passing would be an asset to any fantasy team.

“The reason I can’t tell you with utmost certainty anything is it all depends on how he feels the next day,” said coach Lawrence Frank. “Right now, he’s experiencing the normal soreness the doctors said would accompany this. But if it gets where there’s swelling or there’s something out of the ordinary, we’re going to stay committed to him and not a timeline.”
