Udoka has come out of nowhere this season (2.4 points, 1.7 boards career averages coming in) and has been a nice, steadying presence for the Blazers. I actually considered listing him. When you say "somebody," I'm guessing it's anyone but Portland; they have a gluttony of young guys in Travis Outlaw, Martell Webster, and, I guess, Darius Miles that are going to need to eat up most of the minutes soon. He's going to be a nice pick-up. Pete, I also considered Varejao, and in hindsight perhaps should have included him in the list. There's not going to be many quality, proven big men out there this summer--Webber, Darko, Jamaal Magloire, Primoz Brezac, and Varejao are probably the top six. If I were an NBA GM, I'd seriously consider him over both Magloire and Brezac (what happened to this guy?), but not Webber and Darko.
