Pistons Still Waiting for Webber’s Best?
February 14, 2007
Even though the Detroit Pistons have gone 11-2 since inserting Chris Webber in the starting lineup, Detroit Pistons beatwriter Keith Langlois thinks the best is yet to come from C-Webb:
“He’s rounding into basketball shape, he’s getting a better grip on his teammates’ preferences and idiosyncrasies, and he’s got [Pistons Trainer] Arnie Kander peeling away pages from his biological calendar. It’s pretty clear what direction this ship is headed. The only question is how fast it gets there.”
The whole column is worth a read, and while I’ll admit to being one of the biggest Pistons homers out there, I have to agree with his three main points, especially concerning Arnie Kander. That guy has worked wonders over the years on the likes of Dana Barros, Lindsey Hunter, Antonio McDyess, Rasheed Wallace, etc, and there’s no reason to think he won’t have an incredibly positive impact on Webber’s health as well.
